INTRODUCTION:
        A. The resurrection of Jesus is our most most important truth.
                1. The resurrection was considered of most importance to Paul (1 Corinthians 15:3-8).
                2. The first sermon on Pentecost was about the resurrection of Jesus (Acts     2:23, 32).
        B. What does the resurrection of Jesus mean to us today?
                1. It means that Jesus ever lives to save us.
                2. Jesus is ever interceding on our behalf (1 John 2:1-2).

1. CHRIST EVER LIVES TO SAVE THE LOST.
        A. The prophets spoke of Jesus coming to save sinners.
                1. Jesus would save us from our sin (Matthew 1:21).
                2. Paul tells us that Jesus saves sinners (1 Timothy 1:15).
        B. Jesus takes our sins away from us by His blood.
                1. The blood of Jesus continues to cleanse us (1 John 1:7-8).
                2. God knows how to rescue His righteous one's (2 Peter 2:9).

2. WE HAVE CHRIST INTERCEDING FOR US.
        A. The Bible shows us examples of Jesus interceding for men.
                1. Jesus interceded for Peter (Luke 22:32).
                2. Jesus interceded for those who took His life (Luke 23:34).
        B. Christ ever lives to intercede for us (Hebrews 7:25).
                1. Jesus ever lives--this is good news for us.
                2. Jesus is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5).

CONCLUSION:
        A. Today, Jesus lives and this is the basis of our hope.
        B. Jesus still calls men to salvation through the gospel.
