THE LAMB OF GOD (GENESIS 22:12-14)

INTRODUCTION:
        A. Abraham was tested by God.
                1. God called Abraham to offer Isaac as a sacrifice (Genesis 22:2).
                2. Abraham was willing to obey God (Genesis 22:10-11).
                3. God provided a lamb for Abraham (Genesis 22:13).
        B. God provides a lamb for us today in Jesus.
                1. God will test our faith as He did Abraham.
                2. God provides us a lamb in Jesus (John 1:29).

1. THE SAVING FAITH OF ABRAHAM (GENESIS 22:12-14).
        A. Abraham's actions prove his faith was real.
                1. God knew that Abraham feared Him (Genesis 22:12).
                2. Abraham believed God could raise Isaac from the dead (Hebrews 11:19).
        B. In (Genesis 22:13) we see the lamb God   provided for Abraham.
                1. God praises God for the sacrifice he was given (Genesis 22:14).
                2. God always provides the sacrifice.
                3.Abraham took advantage of the sacrifice that God provided.

2. THE LAMB GOD PROVIDES FOR US (JOHN 1:29).
        A. Jesus is the lamb provided for us.
                1. John introduced Jesus as the lamb provided for us (John 1:29).
                2. Jesus is our sacrificial lamb (1 Peter 1:18-19).
        B. We need to take advantage of the lamb God has provided for us.
                1. Jesus is the only place we find salvation (Acts 4:12).
                2. Jesus bore our sins (1 Peter 2:24).

CONCLUSION:
        A. We need a faith like that of Abraham.
                1. Our faith should be like that of Abraham (Romans 4:23-25).
                2. God has provided a sacrificial lamb for you.
        B. What will you do with the lamb God has provided?
