We are a bilingual congregation, we worship together at the same time in English and Spanish, since the 1950s when a Spanish congregation merged with the English congregation, which existed at our present location since 1910. This is the first congregation in Los Angeles, started in a tent meeting by G.W. Riggs in 1893. Many existing congregations grew out of Sichel Street.
We are mostly active in Spanish work, including the annual Seminario Sur de California, a large gathering of Spanish-speaking churches of Christ, Project Macedonia, providing aide to Latin American brethren suffering natural disasters, and the Instituto Bíblico Sur de California, the Spanish branch of the Southern California School of Evangelism in Buena Park, California. We have an area-wide singing workshop in English every month presented by Jonathan Hinckley of ChurchOfChristSing.com
We have helped start and support congregations in Izalco in Sonsonate, El Salvador, and Aggasi in Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
