what is forward action

Forward action is the ongoing planned evangelism program by the Church of Christ-San Mateo. The program includes the present Soul Searching Project 2001, but also looks forward and beyond to plan for continued efforts to put the gospel into the local community. It also calls for planned monetary commitments to publications that are central to the need to "earnestly contend" for the faith.

As outlined in the "draft" paper for project 2000, the need to "arm" each member with the necessary teaching, encouragement, helps and guidance in order to function as an integral part of the body is of utmost importance. This will require the involvement of all who are capable, to help those who request it. It is the obligation of the leadership to inform the members in the various ways in which evangelism can be incorporated into the "daily" life. This means that we will all be working more closely together for the same purpose in a more focused effort.

This means a more sensitive awareness of those who are family, friends, co-worker, and neighbors. By giving attention to those who are closest to us, we are thus making the territory less intimidating to the worker in the vineyard.

This is not a fancy pump-up plan, but a way that we feel will generate a purposeful focus on the proper understanding of Ephesians 3:10, where "by the church" the world might know the manifold wisdom of God.
