CUSTOM APPLICATIONS
Used Perl to write a program to get ARP cache from Cisco router
and used Visual Basic to convert the data into an Access database.
Sister program pulls MAC addresses from 8250 Hubs for cross-reference
to ARP provided MAC's and allow tracking of IP utilization on
the network.
Wrote a multi-hospital medical records document tracking system
for the Macintosh in HyperCard which would present a data entry
screen for patient name, report type, doctor id, dictation time,
etc. The system included look ups for Doctors names from a separate
database, report templates per hospital, etc. and provided external
functions which would merge data from the database into the word
processor template. I used MPW C to write the external functions
to HyperCard.
DOS Utilities: 1.) A printing program to take source code and
print it in easy to read format for debugging which was also used
to printout error logs. 2.) A program to test the size of a downloaded
file to determine if it was transferred correctly. This was used
in a batch file to verify the size of downloaded files from the
mainframe and react accordingly.
Windows Utilities: Used Visual BASIC to write a Windows based program that would check dates and sizes of given files in its search databases and send an E-Mail to the IS department contacts allowing them to track the last date of access and current size of files that needed monitoring on the LAN. Wrote a Text file printing program in VB that would format text files for inclusion in documentation steps. Wrote a VB program that uses two other programs as DDE clients to provide access to mainframe applications and send pages about the current status of the mainframe application.
